“I have now had TRC Transmission rebuild three of our cars transmissions. Those being a FWD Pontiac, a FWD Honda Accord and now our 4x4 Blazer. Ron the owner and his staff does a great job every time. I do and would recommend TRC for your next transmission repair.”

“Shout out to TRC. I took my 62 Buick to Ron for a trans leak. Found it needed to be rebuilt. The work was done correct and for a good price. Brenda went above and beyond to keep me up to date and in the loop. I couldn't say enough good things about Brenda. She's killer. They found a couple other little things while doing the tranny and contacted another shop for me to help point me in the right direction. Very happy with the service and my car runs better than ever. Plus can't hate the warranty they offer when works done there. Thanks again guys. I appreciate it.”

“I'll start with the obvious. Professional top notch service at a very reasonable price. That in itself justifies the 5 stars. I originally brought my '66 Mustang (my wife's 60th birthday present) in to have the transmission rebuilt. As this has been a labor of love it didn't take long before I was right back having the rear end rebuilt. The transmission pan developed a small leak and Ron and his guys took care of that immediately. I finally gave up on the piece of crap carburetor that was on the car and replaced it with a new Holley. Followed Holley's advice and purchased a new throttle linkage they recommended which ended up being too long so the carb never reached full throttle. I also had a new kick down cable installed which was installed too tight. Long story short, Ron not only fixed the throttle linkage but adjusted the kick down cable. When I picked the car up he wouldn't charge me. Said he did it as a courtesy! Who does that? TRC does and they have a customer for life. Couldn't be happier and will recommend them to anybody that asks!”

“Hey gents ... what can I say... Ron and his crew are totally capable with a can do attitude towards mission accomplishment on getting your tranny or diff up to par for you vehicle or classic car ..
I'm a USMC Vet and got work done on my 1964 Impala, tranny and diff... Ron is so honest, I wish there were more techs honest like him around.

“I took my Ford Explorer in to have the engine and trans mounts replaced. Ron was a great help and very friendly. I needed my car back that evening but I was not able to authorize the work until mid-afternoon. Ron had no problem with this request and through two of his best guys on the job and got it done by 5 pm, with OEM parts. I first had a local Ford dealer take a look at the problem, but they wanted almost twice the money and would need to keep the car overnight.
I also took my car into TRC a year ago when I thought my transmission was going out, but Ron just cleaned up the connectors, and I was good to go. TRC Transmissions does honest, quality work at a very fair price. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this shop.”

“Ron and his guys and gals are just super. I have a Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel with a factory Jake Brake... I lost second gear completely but was still able to drive around with only the 4 remaining gears. I was scheduled to have Hip surgery on June 25th. I took the truck over to TRC on the 24th and they had the transmission rebuilt in a mater of just a few days. I only live about 5 or 6 miles from Ron's shop and when he told me he had it ready to go, I had no way of getting it home. They came to my rescue again by arranging to bring it to the house. I am recovering nicely from the surgery and will not be able to drive the truck for weeks, but I know as soon as I am ready the Dodge will be ready for me. Rebuilt Transmission ready to tow my Blown 5.0 Ranchero to the Dyno shop, AND MORE. Thanks Ron for all your help and the great service... “When my car died, I had it towed to my dealership. They kept it an entire week, then said I needed a new transmission. My 2005 Honda Civic only has 60,000 miles on it. Their quote was $4300. I took my car to TRC Transmissions. They took the trans apart, found the problem, fixed it, & charged me $2200., saving me $2100. I'm on a fixed income so that was great! Ron, the owner is honest & reassuring, & had me bring back the car to double check it after a few weeks. It is perfect. I highly recommend Ron & TRC for their efficiency , honesty, & good work!!!!”

“Great transmission shop. I had a leak on my 2001 mustang Gt that I couldn't pinpoint. I took it to trc, they put it on a lift, took a look and told me it was only the speedometer cable! Saved me a ton of money. I had another shop tell me it was something internal while they were changing my oil. TRC saved me from having to spend a fortune replacing unnecessary seals! I had them do a transmission service while they had it up and now the car has new life to it! Good honest shop. They're my go-to transmission shop from this point on!”

“Stop shopping around; seriously, you're not going to find a better Transmission shop in the valley, county, state.... TRC rebuilt my transmission two years ago and it has been "bullet proof" since, at a price much better than any other shop around. In the past two years TRC has performed other (non-transmission related) repairs for me and has always beat everyone else's $$$, and stood behind their work.”

“So after my 2010 Shelby GT500's clutch took a dump I had the task of looking for a honest and reliable shop. I called around and everyone wanted over $900 to just drop the tranny. When I called TRC Ron the owner answered and told me it would only be $475. That same day I went and dropped of my car he told him of the issue and right off the bat he knew what was wrong. I had to order a new clutch for my baby but he told me to buy it and he would install it which would save me money as he would not have to buy it at all. Throughout the whole time he would call me and give me updates on the status of it. After 2 days I went to go pick up my car and man it shifts buttery smooth now. Honestly this is an AWESOME shop if you need any transmission work.”

“I wish all mechanical shops were this easy , honest and reasonably priced when I have work done on my truck. They rebuilt my tranny, added a billet torque converter, and did such a great job at a reasonable price that I took my truck back when the rear main seal needed replacing. I then needed a coolant leak repaired, and they did that for me too. They even reduce the price for the leak repair in half, not because I asked them too, but just because I expressed that I didn't think it was going to cost as much as it did. Ron is honest, easy to understand, and a great person. I'll keep coming back!”

I had a rear axle gear ratio change done, and from start to finish, it was done in a professional, correct manner and more quickly than I had expected. I had previously gotten a quote from Ron for a transmission fluid change with me providing the fluid, filter and gasket ; and was quoted $30 less from Kings Transmission across the street from TRC and having never used Ron's shop, went to Kings for the fluid change. After pulling everything apart and replacing the filter I was told that it took longer than they thought it would and the price would be $20 more than what Ron from TRC had quoted me. Trust TRC, Beware the other. Also, Maria, who works the front desk should be commended for her professionalism, outstanding manners and just because She is so darn cute.”

They were easy to talk to, it was done in exactly the time frame they gave us, the estimate was spot on and the transmission works like brand new. Friendly folks that know their business. I've been driving this van for a few months now, and took a 2000 mile trip to Idaho. The van has run great, and I have not had to return to TRC for any problems or adjustments. “I researched dozens of transmission repair shops, for about a week, to fix the progressively worsening noise that was coming from the rear end differential of my 02 Dodge Ram pickup truck after a 2500 mile trip.

All of the service providers I had spoken to sounded about the same, same price point, same time frame, same knowledge and assurances of abilities. TRC, however, was different. The polite lady that answered the phone put me straight through to the owner Ron. Ron listened to my description of what my truck was doing and unlike any of the other shops that had a 'don't know you got to bring it by' answer, Ron began to explain to me what the probable cause of the noise was. He was respectful, knowledgeable about my particular truck and had a confidence that only a man who has been working a trade for a life time has. Ron explained that transmissions and drive trains have been his life's work, that is what he does. I brought TRC my pickup an hour later, that's how well I felt about our conversation.

The shop is as I would want a transmission shop to be, steeped in there history and well appointed with tools of the trade. I left my truck feeling confident I had made the best choice. I got a call from Ron the next day to get approval to order parts since he now knew that his theory of the issues with my differential were correct. I was pleased that the lesser of the price quotes was to be my outcome and I asked if it would be done by the following day. Ron said that he would have it by that afternoon! When I got to the shop the truck was good to go and the bill was lower than the lowest estimate I had received by any other shop. Ron asked that I stop by in a week so he could check for leaks and off I went with a smile. The truck runs better then it ever has. Quiet, crisp and slightly better gas mileage. This is how an American business should be run! TRC is the only shop for my drive train needs.

“I had TRC Transmission Service the transmission on my personal vehicle they gave me a price when I got there there were no additional cost whatsoever they replace the transmission pan gasket filled with new transmission fluid. I was in and out of the shop within an hour and found the price to be extremely affordable they did a wonderful job and I highly recommend these individuals as they have been established in the valley for quite some time and they do exceptional work”

“My 2004 Honda Accord V6 has around 280K miles on it, so I finally figured that it's time to have it's second transmission service. I say this in tongue-in-cheek, I think I've had it done more than twice, but it's definitely been a long time since the last one. I've always gone back to the Honda dealership in Simi Valley for service since I've had a business relationship with them for many years. However, spending my Saturday mornings (and sometimes afternoons) in their customer lounge just to get an oil change or having to schedule service weeks in advance and knowingly overpaying for some of the service/parts started to get old. So, on the glowing referral of a family friend, I paid a visit to TRC this week for transmission service. I was greeted in a very professional manner by Ron and his staff, and my car was on the rack in a few minutes. I told them that I was a 'Conway Twitty' kinda driver (read: relaxed and laid back) so the tranny shouldn't be too worn out. Upon initial draining, Ron told me that the fluid was burnt. That explained the smell every time I started the car (and not my Brut cologne). He suggested that we do a double fill and drain rather than flush so as not to shock the system. Fine by me. Cut to the chase, the hesitation and sluggishness that I'd been experiencing over the past year was gone when I pulled away from the TRC driveway. Ron did ask me if I'd been experiencing any hesitation or shifting issues and I said no, as I honestly thought I just needed new plugs and maybe some BG44K. Here's my take: I am very,very satisfied with the work done on my Accord - quick, honest, professional, and I was out of there in about 30 minutes. I'm not going to jump the gun and say that this'll be everyone's experience, I was lucky that there weren't two cars ahead of me. But they work fast, clean and honest. Price was good too. I'm rating them 4 stars for now but I'm bringing in my 2007 Odyssey and the rating may change! Stay tuned and thanks Ron!”

“Ron is one of the Greatest guy that I have been meet. Even though it was probably my fault that I purchased through my transmission she told me that it wasn't my fault and it was the car that had issues. He got my car fixed really quickly even got me at great deal a rental car and he even paid for a day of the rental. Gave me build my everything and they feel better then new car and is shifting gears so smoother.. I can honestly say even better than new because we put some touches on is to make it up”

“I took my car 2003 Corvette 50th year anniversary for Transmission line replacement. Ron inspected it and repaired it instead of replacing it. It cost me less than replacement & he did a great job. very nice staff and very good follow up. They definatly know what they are doing. Another place offered to replace it for $1500 vs Ron for approx. $200 if it needed replacement. he end up repaining it which needed to be tightened & transmission oil change, all for about $200.

“I have never experienced working with such an honest company. A while after I had the transmission swapped I was experiencing a little chatter when shifting gears I explained this to Ron and was prepared to fork out some $ to make sure it was right even after I had paid to have my rebuild inspected before installation. It turns out that I had installed a snap ring wrong and because it was over looked in the inspection he didn't charge me a dime to pull the Trans out and fix the problem. I wish there we're more honest establishments like this out there”

“Well, I will say I was pleased to some extent of the service that was provided. The staff and Ron included, are very friendly. The labor costs were more than fair for the work being done. I have no issues with that.

My main issues are with the safe guarding of vehicles and time frame of work. With the amount of business and the type of cars they get from time to time, they need to invest some money in protecting their clients assets better. Video cameras and hoping clients car alarms will scare away thieves is naive. I have seen nearly 20 cars in my years throughout chatsworth, found stripped on the curb. Sadly the area is very friendly to car theft. Either the shop needs to take liability of such issues, or put up a solid fence like most other shops in the area. I rolled the dice and left my car outside there. I will never do that again , and lack of peace of mind is a major detour ant for future business. Not just for myself, but other customers.

My last thought is time frame of work. I understand business and how things work within shops. However understand when I make an appointment a week in advance. Then follow up Monday during that week of the planned work. I would say I was less than thrilled to know that my car was being pushed back by other business coming in. The purpose of the appointment was to make sure the work being done to my car was both, not rushed and on time. When we both agree for me to drop off the car the night prior, so you can work on it first thing. Waiting till 3pm, 3 hours before you close to start work was not acceptable. The amount of hours you quoted me for labor was 4 1/2 and it took you 2 hours, and it was rushed. When you rush work you make huge mistakes. One of those mistakes was not bolting the exhaust back properly ( from headers to y-pipe collector ) which you removed in order to pull the transmission. End result was an exhaust leak that burned up the gasket and may have caused other damage due to the excessive rattling of the y-pipe and mid pipe. I find exactly what damage was done this week.

I gave you 4 stars on the basis of honesty and integrity. You remained honest about everything we spoke about. I asked a quote 5 months prior to the work and when the invoice came up, it was exactly what we discussed. The transmission is running well and the converter. My only gripe was the problem with my exhaust.”

“Ron Hazelton and his staff are great. Brought my ford f150 in to see why it wasn't shifting properly. We took it for a test drive and he diagnosed the issue in about 10 seconds. I brought the truck in the next day and he fixed the situation in a few hours at minimal cost. Ron also personally called me to give me status updates.

The shop is clean and organized. Nicole at the front desk was also very nice and helpful, even calling me a few days later to check up on the work.

Don't believe the 1 star ratings from people with an obvious axe to grind. I live in Chatsworth and try to frequent my local businesses. Ron and his staff are the real deal.

“This place is awesome! I was told at another repair place I needed a my transmission replaced, since that is a big job I wanted a 2nd opinion. I have worked in the car business before and TRC Tranmissions was recommended through a previous co worker.
Ron, the owner took it on a test drive and figured out the problem (which was not the transmission). I came back the next day and my car was repaired. I have found a diamond in the Valley. This place is honest and and do great work.
If you need and good mechanic you can trust this is the place.”

“Ron Hazelton and the group at TRC are all first class. I brought my classic, original 1973 Lincoln Continental coupe over to TRC because the C6 transmission needed to be rebuilt. Ron worked with me every step of the way, and also installed some beefier parts that I specified. They also installed a new heater core (I supplied it) for me and did a coolant flush because my car had a leak at the core. My vehicle came back to me in excellent condition. The transmission has been shifting precisely and firmly (3rd gear is a neck snapper due to the updated servo I requested) for the past year. I purposely waited this long to see how everything would hold up, and so far so good. Ron and company were also very patient with me when I'd call or stop by to see how things were going. He also did a fluid flush on my wife's import SUV which requires special fluid. TRC is the place to go for transmission work. Thanks again Ron and crew!”

“My old '64 Pontiac left me stranded one morning when the transmission would only go backwards, not forwards! I was towed to TRC who were awesome. Super friendly and even though they were really busy they took time to look it over and determine that it needed a rebuild. Under a week later they had found the parts (not easy), and rebuilt my transmission. It's my daily driver and has worked flawlessly ever since.

It's the little things though - they organized a cheap rate on a rental car, they kept me aware of progress and they even let me drive off and leave them the rental car at their shop. They just took car of returning it.
